W. Herbert Senft II, PhD, President

With 25 years experience, Dr. Senft has proven expertise in growth oriented enterprises including successfully raising capital and profitably exiting companies. Dr. Senft has held executive positions with several successful companies and has served as executive in residence at Gazelle Tech Ventures. His broad experience also includes ISO certification and Total Quality Management.

As President of Symbios Medical Products, Dr. Senft provides strategic and tactical leadership, marshalling limited resources to drive revenue growth and achieve profitability. He is adept at helping companies achieve substantial growth and success in their markets.

Dr. Senft is trained as a research scientist and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.

Geoff Roper, Vice President, Operations

Mr. Roper has a strong medical device manufacturing background including start-up and turnaround experience. He has designed and implemented rapid product development methodologies, research and advanced product development for Nellcor. Mr. Roper drove the initial Symbios FDA application.

A serial entrepreneur, Roper has served at the executive level in a number of companies across a variety of industries including information technology, medical capital equipment, surveillance applications for imaging technology and intermodal transportation.

After service as a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force, Mr. Roper received his Bachelor of General Science in Earth Science and Environmental Science from the University of Kansas.

Richard Cox, Vice President, Sales

Solidly grounded in pain pump technology with 10 years experience serving the pain pump market Mr. Cox launched On-Q for I-Flow. He has over 21 years of Sales and Marketing leadership experience with leading medical companies including Johnson & Johnson Medical, Ethicon and I-Flow.

Mr. Cox holds a Bachelor of Arts from Auburn University.

Mitch Katz, CPA, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Katz has a solid financial management background including public accounting serving in large public companies as Controller and smaller companies as CFO. His expertise extends to cash management, financial reporting, internal controls, financial systems and processes as well as strategic planning.

Mr. Katz’s started his career at the accounting firm Ernst and Young and has held senior financial management positions in a variety of industries.

Mr. Katz earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from LaSalle University.
